Professional Experience.
Dr. Lucky Bhalla Sehgal is a highly experienced, compassionate Paediatrician and Neonatologist with over 16 years of clinical experience in India and Australia. She completed her MBBS with distinction from Manipal University, one of India’s most prestigious medical institutions. She subsequently pursued MD Pediatrics from Maharastra university of health sciences in the year 2007-2010. She further advanced her expertise with a Fellowship in Neonatology from Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh. She completed her MD Paediatrics and Fellowship in Neonatology with top academic distinction.
Following her training, Dr. Lucky served as a Specialized Medical Officer in Paediatrics with the Punjab Civil Medical Services and later spent nearly nine years at Fortis Escorts Hospital, Amritsar, progressing from Senior Resident to Consultant in the Department of Paediatrics and Neonatology. She has extensive experience managing extremely premature neonates to adolescents up to 18 years, including routine care, emergencies, and paediatric and neonatal intensive care. She has also been actively involved in teaching and training medical officers and nursing staff. She is known for her compassionate, evidence-based care and her holistic approach to child health, from newborns to adolescents.
Dr. Lucky has significant international clinical experience, having worked in Australia from 2022 to 2025 in General Paediatrics, Neonatology, and Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics. Her work involved multidisciplinary, family-centred care, structured developmental assessments, and management of children with autism, ADHD, developmental delays, learning difficulties, epilepsy, and behavioural disorders, enriching her holistic and evidence-based approach to child health.
She has also completed formal training in the Assessment of suspected Physical Abuse in children, after attending a specialized workshop held in New Zealand. She successfully completed an accredited training, equipping her with expertise in recognition, evaluation, documentation, and multidisciplinary management of child abuse, in line with international best practices.
Current Practice
Dr. Lucky currently runs her outpatient services at Sehgals Neuro and Child Care Centre. She also conducts specialized clinics, including:

- Developmental & Behavioural Clinic
- Anaemia Clinic
- Growth Clinic
- Immunization clinic
She is skilled in a wide range of paediatric and neonatal procedures, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, central and peripheral vascular access, umbilical catheterization, PICC line insertion, chest tube placement, lumbar puncture, and exchange transfusion. She is affiliated with multiple hospitals to ensure timely referral and intensive care admission when required.
Community Service & Professional Engagement
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Lucky is deeply committed to community service and public health education. She has delivered numerous talks in schools, rural and urban camps, and played an active role in COVID-19 awareness and vaccination advocacy, including authoring articles in regional newspapers and providing free treatment to hundreds of children during the pandemic. In recognition of her social contributions, she was honoured for her social work by leading Hindi newspaper Dainik Jagran on International Women’s Day (March 2020).
She is an active member of several Paediatric professional bodies and regularly participates in national and international conferences and continuing medical education programs to stay aligned with the latest advances in paediatrics.
